A long way to go!

It has been almost a year since I last posted. A lot has happened and I had been preoccupied with kinds of stuff.

It is really amusing how life goes through hiccups, and every time you bounce back!

2021 was a year like that. But I am glad that mishaps happened, situations were messed up and I lost a dear one forever!

They say what doesn’t break you, only makes you stronger. True indeed.

Sometimes, patience is the only key. And later these become part of your experiences. Now I am glad for all those who rejected me, for all those opportunities that were never going to be mine.

And now things are completely changed, after one year. I am sitting and typing this and smiling. It was a ride full of tears and joy. A lot is going on in my life now. There is good news to share.

I want to get back to this habit of writing blogs frequently. As this is where I can be myself. This is my happy place. I want to start this on a weekly basis at first. Let’s begin another journey.

This time I don’t need to prove anything to anybody.

How’s been 2021 so far

Oh hello there!

Thanks for coming back, maybe I should start like that! It’s been really long since I started blogging. Due to other engagements, studies, full-time job, lockdown blogging took a break from me. Or, I took a break from my first passion, “Writing”.

Writing always has been my solace, the one solace where I can jot down all of my thoughts freely. Zero judgements, I can be myself. All of my imagination, my ideas found a home to stay. Nevertheless, it is hard to maintain consistency with anything in this world.

We know how the pandemic came, now the world is different. I don’t know about other countries, but we are still not allowed to travel. One thing, which I miss extremely is Travelling. I was a person who never used to stay at a place for more than a month. I was always going from one place to another, even it was just a short trip.

2020 & 2021 has disrupted my traveller spirit. My soul is still travelling, but the body is still imprisoned. The mind wants to see the unseen, touch the mountain and beaches, move freely like the breeze. But we must follow the restrictions.

For an introvert like me, it is always a hurdle to make friends. Although I don’t believe in making friends anymore. I believe we came across people in this lifetime for a reason. Some teach us lessons, some help us to grow and only a few stay with us.

We all are travellers, going towards our destinations!

2021 so far has been a hell of a hiccup. Sometimes life feels like only doing work from home, no social interaction, not meeting my friends. Yes, video call helps, but I prefer to meet someone in person. I want to cherish every moment while we are together. I do miss old times, the times before the pandemic.

When will this pandemic end? Will things ever go back to normal? Hope says, it will.

Diary 2020: What I learnt this year.

Everything changes with time. People change, they grow. Relationships change, they tumble. Nothing lasts forever.


We are nothing but a collection of atoms. Life is nothing but a collection of memories. We all are here for only a bounded period. Every passing moment is becoming part of a memory.

All these feels like a cliche! But it is part of our reality. A human being passes through multiple stages in life. From childhood to adulthood, the path is full of ups and downs. On the way, one will experience numerous emotions.
Throughout the lifetime, you’ll meet innumerable people. You’ll connect with a lot of them. But the definition of friendship changes with time.


We all have only a finite time here on earth. So why should we waste it by making friends?


I always used to ask this question to myself in childhood. Obviously, at that time I didn’t have many friends. This will sound funny but only a few are connected with me through social media. We usually don’t interact at all.
College was different for me, there I made a lot of new friends, my personality also developed. I became a sociable person. Though change is evident.


I moved outside of Bengal after getting a job, my location was Mumbai for two years. And the world was turned upside down. Part of me evolved, growth is supposed to happen when you step out of your comfort zone.
And when you realize, It’s already made a huge difference in your personality.
Out of the blue, a part of me realized that I was being unfollowed and ignored by friends.
At first, it started with Facebook, many of them unfollowed me. Then unfriended me. It’s not their fault completely! I didn’t manage to contact them while I was in Mumbai.
I came back to Kolkata. I was back home. Again life changed. It has been a roller coaster ride of emotions. At times, the change was extremely overwhelming.


And I could only write about it. As only blogging could make me feel calm.
Today I decided to document it. Because it has been a continuous process of being avoided.
I must admit, I have never been great with my relationships, let it be with any colleague or any classmate or any friends. My whole life is revolving around all those numerous fights I had with random friends. Most of the time in my life I’ve been a ‘Lone-wolf’.


There were moments when I sincerely tried to be a good friend, but most of the time I have failed miserably.


2020 has been a huge challenge for every living person on earth. There’s no doubt in that. But I want to thank 2020 for bringing clarity in my life. A lot of events took place, and I realized who was there for me. Seven months have passed, now hardly anyone asks me anything! No friend calls me or asks me if I am happy.
I was so determined to remove negative influences from my life that all that I’ve left in my life is only a single digit of people who are eager to talk to me.
They say when you grow you start to lose friends. I guess they never meant to stay anyway. It’s hard when you have a lot to share, a lot of things to tell. But you are ignored in return.
Anyways, I have always respected boundaries. If someone ignores or avoids you, you don’t disturb them anymore. That’s how you are going to keep everyone happy.


2020 is forcing me to progress and it will prepare me for the upcoming challenges. Three more months are left, let’s see what happens next.

Those tiny moments of joy

It’s been a while writing a blog post. Someone like me who is an ambivert, who is constantly looking for new inspirations, new interactions. These last seven months have been like a major transformation.
Someone who overthinks most of the time. It was tough for me to stop writing for a while. All of my emotions were bottled up. I felt imprisoned for quite some time. It’s not like I wasn’t breathing or eating a nourishing meal.

It was craving for the fresh air which was flowing outside, I missed watching the sunset while walking with a friend.
I missed all the little pleasures of life.

Like seeing the flowers blooming or the tea stall just outside of my office. The view lingers inside my mind.
All the seasons were passing one by one. All I could just do was to see from my window, most of the time I even missed the sunset because I was busy attending meetings.
It’s not that I am complaining, it’s just that I missed what mundane life was. The serene walks around the garden, the morning sun ray’s reaching for my skin. It’s all now a memory.

They say nothing is permanent in this world. I never realized it before, and then pandemic happened. Maybe I shouldn’t have taken those coffee chats for granted. Maybe, I could have visited my friends more often.

Hope it gets back to where it used to be. Life is made of all the sweet moments.

Growth seems to be ceaseless

Now, these are the most uncertain time of our lives. We all never anticipated something like this to happen! We don’t know when it will be over. It has already been more than a month of my quarantine while I am writing this post.

We all had high hopes for 2020. We made goals and plans for the year ahead. Now the first quarter of the year is over, and most of the people in the world are now clueless. We have become victims of the circumstances.

We are forced to stay indoors, we are forced to work from home. The humankind is pushed through the edge, we have to change the normal lifestyle we have.

Everything normal feels unreal now. The unexpected has replaced the normal.

The daily routine is now changed. Every household is facing issues with this new set of daily chores. Let’s get to this easier example. Whenever you are looking at any social network, there are a lot of recipes, dalgona coffee, quarantine pics etc.

There is no certainty when this quarantine will be over. We can take a break from the hasty lifestyle now. We can sleep for proper hours and binge watch series. We can start reading the book which was not finished for long. We can stay indoors and be safe from the pandemic. There are endless options.

The choice is yours. You can invest the time by doing what you love. You can also submerge in frustration and dwell into depression during the quarantine. We become what we think. This is the time to become more mindful about the areas in life which were neglected for long. So when the pandemic is over, you’ll rise like a Pheonix. You’ll be changed, you’ll have growth. I know, this sounds corny. But this time can be implemented in many different ways.

Most of us are anxious now. It feels like the end of the world. Staying indoors can be extremely boring. But try to think from a different perspective. At some point, we all wanted to have a long weekend and do nothing. Now when this is happening, we don’t want that anymore.

Most of the people are so confused in their heads that they can’t even differentiate what’s right or wrong for them. I have seen people who are constantly confronting everyone around for a simple mistake. But in reality, that person is not flexible to consider someone else’s opinion. We all have some parts of ourselves which were never exposed. We are afraid to change. We are afraid to let go.

Someday you’ll know that it’s time for a change.

And what could be better timing to change some areas in your life? Change is not easy. You need a strong will to proceed further. From continuous change, there will be growth. And you must keep a flexible mindset, be willing to learn new things. Learning never ends.

Every person is different and we’ll have different pieces of stuff to focus on. Hope everyone will experience something significant from this quarantine and it will help us to become a better version of ourselves.

The randomness of Life

The more unpredictable the world is the more we rely on predictions

Life is unpredictable! No matter how much you try to organize, no matter how much you plan, at some point, it will all be misplaced again. Then you’ll have to pick up the pieces, you have to start over.

As a person, I’ll say that I prefer to be disciplined and organised in my daily life. I plan my days way ahead, I try to schedule as much as possible. Even after doing all of these organization; there will be days when my physical ability will be completely reduced to zero. And I wouldn’t feel like doing anything at all.

Not all days are sunshine; we all have our share of disappointments. We all witness hurdles in daily life. Sometimes it’s okay to rest for a while.

As long as we are trying to become a better version of ourselves, we’ll have the urge to move forward. Though the TIME is Limited. We all have only 24 hours each day to make something worthy enough. But we can’t be worthy each day, so the key is to become ‘consistent‘.

Whatever you are doing, if you are loving it; you’re already halfway there! Just be consistent. Whatever your reap, you’ll harvest later.

Yes, life will be harsh. It will act as an unpredictable barrier on your way. The roads to your dreams will be full of hiccups, but you must carry on. You push yourself harder each day, just be steady. Your time will come, have faith in yourself.

Goals for 2020

Another new decade just has begun. The year 2019 is far behind us now. With every time passing, we are more inclined towards the future. Every year many of us take a pledge to start over. We make plans & objectives for another new year.

We make plans because we want to become better than we were yesterday. Most of us make plans and work according to them for only a few days. Suddenly, they lack motivation and stop. Why do we stop? Because we didn’t see any progress.

Everyone is great at making goals, but only a few are persistent to follow them and achieve results.

Every change requires time. Changes are tough when we begin. If it’s not uncomfortable at first, it’s not at all a change! You’ll be stagnant in life if you keep following your daily routine for the rest of your life.

All change is hard at first, messy in the middle and so gorgeous at the end.

You have to be consistent, you have to follow them day after day. I know it is disappointing when you don’t see any progress at all. But you must stick to your plans, be determined. Work with full concentration to achieve something.

We can have goals. Some may have positive effects in our lives, some may don’t contribute anything at all. So, choose your goals wisely. Both positive and negative decisions can be contributed to action. Be mindful.

There is a Japanese method named as Kaizen. Kaizen means “continuous improvement“. Even if you’re not willing, you must be consistent. Don’t just accept your current situation, there are different ways to improve the status quo. Each day try to improve by 1%, these 1% improvements may seem irrelevant. In the long run, these 1% improvements are going to add up and make a remarkable difference.

How to make goals ?

First of all, every individual is different. We have multiple objectives and wishes. Think attentively about your priorities first.

  • Which are your most significant plans?
  • Make a list of at most 3 or 5 goals you want to achieve this year.
  • Work towards them consistently, if you ever feel demotivated; just look at the list and start working again.
  • Remember, each day just 1% improvement is enough for you.
  • You can also make short-term goals for every 3 or 4 months.
  • Take your time to rest, each of us has a different path. There’s no need to rush.
  • No matter what others are saying, follow your intuition.
  • By the end of 2020, review your progress.

I know it feels overwhelming when we have a lot on our plates. It’s okay to feel stuffed with burdens sometimes. Just don’t make this your permanent situation. Change your strategy if you feel overburdened by responsibilities. Make your schedule and work towards it.

I have also thought and made my goals for 2020. Maybe. There will be minor changes in overtime. Let’s see how much can I improve overtime.

I am sorry for not being active on my blog for the last few months. I’ll try to be better and consistent at writing, there’s a long way ahead. Also, I have been working on my YouTube Channel for the last 3 or 4 months. I hope people are going to be inspired by my post.

As we all know another decade (2010-2019) is on the verge of completion. A brand new decade of 2020 is about to begin in just about one month. We are going to step on a brand new journey of our lives.

As the year of 2019 is going to end, I decided to write something different on my blog this time. Every time I tell about my own experiences. But this post is dedicated to all the people I have in my life at this moment.

Trip to the Andaman Archipelago: Part 2, Neil & Havelock Island

The Natural Bridge, Neil Island

I am back with the second part of the Andaman travel blog. I am glad that many of the viewers have liked part 1 so much. I just enjoyed the trip with my heart and soul. And I tried to write down the details as much as possible.

The Coral reefs of Havelock Island

So, now lets jump into the travel details, in the second part I am going to mention two majestic islands of Andaman. They are-

  1. Havelock Island ( also known as Swaraj Deep)
  2. Neil Island ( also known as Shaheed deep)

Day 4 & 5:

Havelock Island:

It was the 4th day of Andaman trip, last night we came back from visiting Baratang & Jarawa Reserve Forest. It was an unforgettable experience.

In the morning we reached the ferry ghat to catch our Ship to Havelock Island. It took about 2.5 hours to reach Havelock from Port Blair. The journey was amazing. All throughout my life, I had always been exhausted by travelling in ships. But this time, the story was different.

The Ship was sailing smoothly through the sheer waves of the Bay of Bengal. Sometimes, the waves were turbulent; sometimes they were so calm. Everything in the world felt less significant at that moment. My mind was submerged by the never-ending scenery of the sea. The 2.5 hours felt like 30 minutes or just a little more. And when we reached Havelock Island, I was amused by its beauty.

Havelock Island is part of Andaman Archipelago. It’s known for its dive sites and beaches, like Elephant Beach, with its coral reefs. Crescent-shaped Radhanagar Beach is famous for watching the sunset.

The main attraction of Havelock Island is its beaches. The marvellous view of the sea along with the pleasant surroundings will just make you fall in love with the place. We visited the Radhanagar beach, and I just couldn’t stop clicking pictures!

Scuba Diving at Havelock Island:

Havelock & Neil Islands are famous for their vibrant coral reefs. Tourists from all around the world visit Andaman for its once in a lifetime scuba experience.

Coral reefs in Andaman are stretched over an area of 11,000 sq km of area, while the Nicobars have about 2,700 sq km under coral reefs. The Andaman Archipelago have fringing reefs around the east coast and barrier reef on the west.

The coral reefs consist of numerous species of marine flora and fauna. I went Scuba Diving at Havelock. And the experience was simply mindblowing. Scuba diving has been the most adventurous experience in my life until now.

I went for scuba because I wanted to dive into the sea, I wanted to explore the underwater world. Initially, I hadn’t any idea what scuba diving would feel like. Once I dwelled deeper into the sea, everything appeared to be more vibrant & picturesque. The wide variety of flora and fauna just stole my heart.

We stayed in Havelock for two days. And visited all the beaches. In the evening we took the ship to Neil Island.

Day 6:

Neil island:

Neil Island is now known as the Shaheed Deep. Neil Island is a tiny island surrounded by the coral reefs. Neil means ‘blue‘. Neil Island is covered by a blue coloured sea from all the sides. The water here was crystal clear, the sea looks unrealistic, how someplace can be so beautiful!

Neil Island took one hour from Havelock Island. But the transport medium is only by government ships & private cruises.

If you are tired of the hectic urban lifestyle, and looking for an exotic & serene destination, Neil Island is going to be your ideal place to visit. The comfortable climate with tropical vegetation makes the Neil Island a desirable place to visit. You can spend hours by just walking on those deserted beaches. It will be a great treat for mind and soul.

One can also indulge in water activities like speed boats, banana boats, scuba diving in Neil Island. You won’t be disapointed. In fact, you’ll gain an experience of a lifetime.

Day 7:

Back to Port Blair:

Next day in the morning, we took a ship to get back to Port Blair. The journey through the sea was just unforgettable. I’ll never forget the views I’ve witnessed through this journey.

Sometimes, we just need to let go of all the distractions, just to find ourselves. But all trips come to an end. Now, it was our time to get back to Kolkata.

Day 8:

Flight back to Kolkata, home.

This was my trip to Andaman Archipelago in a brief. No matter, how much I try to put through the words, I just can’t explain my trip completely. It was a journey of a lifetime. I never imagined such an adventure. Scuba Diving is just changed my perspective towards life.

You know, people say that when you go for a trip, you start to change along with the trip. You gain experiences. And when you come back home, you’re not that same person anymore. Right now in my life, I am sure of one thing. “ I love travelling“.

How to plan for Andaman Trip?

Nowadays, there are many travel websites to look for. But try to research about the places before you book your tickets. Try to book flights to Port Blair as the ships will take much longer to reach. Andaman is waiting for you!

So, what are you waiting for? Make your itinerary for Andaman. Book your flights & hotels. And have a trip of a lifetime.

Lighting up an old Passion

When we were a child, we had a different vision. We used to believe in miracles. We thought that everything was possible because of magic. At least, I was quite fond of magic.

But circumstances changes, as we grow up. Now its the time to focus on studies, need to get a well-paid job, need to grow a family etc. When we start our work-life, the schedule of life changes completely.

The majority of the people are spending their time doing to and fro to work. People are working constantly for 5 to 6 days a week. The new generation is living their life only on weekends. Sadly, we have only the weekends to cherish the beautiful moments of life. Though most of us are even choosing the mobile over normal life on weekends also.

Do you ever just stop for a moment and think about your passion in your free time? Do you ever remember how you used to enjoy your days as a child? What was your hobby or passion as a child?
Our hobbies say a lot about ourselves. It can describe our mindset on that very moment of our life.

Recently, I read a book on “Ikigai”. Well, many of you must have already heard about Ikigai. It’s a traditional Japanese concept about finding your passion. It’s about what makes you look forward in life. I’ll link the book below on Ikigai by Yukari Mitshuhashi. I have also mentioned her name on my Instagram account.

You must give this book a try, it will make you realize what makes you happy in life. Reading about Ikigai just opened my eyes. I had been pushing myself hard to achieve so much at once. But in life, you must go slowly and steadily to achieve something. Let it be happiness, let it be a success, every single thing takes time.

As a human being, it is often hard and confusing to complete all kinds of stuff at a time. Practice makes a person more flexible. But don’t overlook your personal needs to complete all daily tasks.

Make time for yourself in between your busy schedule. No matter even if it’s a single day in a week. Just try, go for it. Invest that time on yourself, look out for the things you like doing, take care of your health, pamper yourself. Do whatever you love doing.

Often we forget what we used to like as a child. Sometimes our passion was deeply rooted in our childhood habits. For example, I used to sing during my schooldays. I even trained for more than twelve years in Indian Classical Music. Somehow, I stopped practising. Maybe because I left Kolkata at that time for my job. And my passion became non-existent for a while. But whenever I heard someone singing, I also started along with that person. You may have different hobbies like photography, poetry, drawing, dancing, travelling etc. You just need to start pursuing it again.

Recently, I again figured out about what I love since childhood, and “Singing” was the first thing which came in my mind. By that time I just finished reading the book on Ikigai. I can’t stop being grateful to that book. Some books just change us, and it arrives at the right moment when you least expect it.

If I can rediscover my passion even after forgetting it for a long time, so do you. From now on, I’ll make sure to practice singing whenever I’ll get time. Because I can be myself for that moment. It makes me happy.

So go out and rediscover what you love, discover what you haven’t disliked even since your childhood, discover what makes you feel accomplished and worthy. No matter how much you earn, without a hobby or a passion, you’ll feel worthless and bored at times. So, switch off the gadgets for a moment, go out in the outdoors, breath and think with a calm mind. Give it a try for a few weeks, you’ll get an answer from your intuition. You’ll know what you want to do!
